Painkillers Increase the Risk of Impotence

I've already said that we have to take drugs of any kind, forms, colors and sizes during all our life. If all these drugs weren't with us, we would have died in our childhood. But there is a difference between all the medicines we take everyday! Some of them can bring nothing but use; others can improve something giving side effects to other organs. Some others are even dangerous for life but there are people with rare diseases and these people have to take those medicines just to survive.

Painkillers kill pain and... sexual potency!

Actually I don't know what a kind of medicines all painkillers mostly are but there is an opinion that they increase impotence risk. It seems sometimes that there aren't much more useful drugs than painkillers! And when you feel relief saving from a pain, it means that you likely have taken a painkiller. I don't mean the aspirin taken once a week to treat headaches because if aspirin is taken at its recommended dosage it can cause very few side effects in particular cases only. And I don't mean such strong painkiller as Wildnil, for example, which is used for tranquillizing large animals because one drop of such "painkiller" can even kill any man! I mean such strong and rather affordable painkillers as opioids - a group of substances that resemble morphine in their physiological or pharmacological effects, especially in their pain-relieving properties.

Of course it isn't my supposition. I've read about a special research made by specialists from a very famous managed care consortium - Kaiser Permanente. They say that constantly using pain relievers can increase the risk of erectile dysfunction. What do they mean saying "constantly using"? The researchers said that it is enough to use such drugs two or three times a day during a rather long period of time to increase the risk of impotence by more than 22 percent. I think that there is a great deal of truth in what they say. And I am sure that it is a very important reason to give up the painkillers trying to eliminate a cause of pain.

What about such "weak" painkillers as aspirin or ibuprofen? The researchers say that these drugs can increase impotence risk too being taken for more than three times a day! After such a piece of information I am not ready to stanch even toothache by taking a pain killer and try immediately to get to dental room!
