I often come across very astounding information on impotence and it seems sometimes that almost any man's motion may make him an impotent! For example it turned out that hair-growth drugs can lead to erectile dysfunction. Don't you believe me? Then believe in facts.

The fact of matter is that hair-growth drugs contain hormonelike materials which affect not only the processes connected with hair growth but also erectile function. For example, one of the most popular preparations for treating baldness called propecia contains an active substance finasteride. The Journal of Sexual Medicine says about the study which showed that finasteride can cause persistent sexual dysfunction well after a man stops the medication. No wonder that this remedy is able to spoil your sexual life. The fact is that we lose hair because of dihydrotestosterone. This substance can be called a more potent testosterone (you know that testosterone is a potent steroid hormone secreted mainly by the testes). As for finasteride, it decreases the conversion of testosterone to dihydrotestosterone.
There were special researches made in 2008 showed that up to 38 percent of users had adverse sexual events. Some of the researches said that not necessarily so but the baldness treatment is attended with high risk. I mean the risk of occurring of erectile dysfunction, low libido and problems with orgasm. In many cases men even stopped to take finasteride because of these side effects. Some cynical doctors claim that it's nothing since the impotence is quite curable due to modern drugs such as Viagra and so on.
I think it's terrible! What is more important to you - to have head of luxuriant hair or to be able to satisfy your sex partner in bed? May be, I don't understand anything (all the more that I don't suffer from alopecia). I am willing to concede that there are cases when you must to choose - to take any medicines to save your life or to preserve your sexual potency to the grave! But I am sure that baldness has nothing to do with such cases!
